Unsuitable mounts

For Equatorial mounts, do be aware that if you purchase them directly from the USA, they may not be usable in equatorial latitudes. This is because they are typically design optimized to mechanically function at latitudes 30° and above. As such, they either can't be set to a latitude of 0°, or if they could, there may be mechanical collisions that prevent proper, safe use.

Astro Bargains only sells equatorial mounts that are suitable for equatorial latitudes. Either the design is such that it already caters to use at 0°, or has been modified to function properly.

The list below shows the Equatorial mounts that do and do NOT work at equatorial latitudes. If you do know of any EQ mount that should be added to this list, do send us an email.
